You Calm This Mother’s Soul

I wonder if you know
how you calm this mother’s soul
by reaching out in love
so very mindful of,
the guidance and the care
you so generously share
with young folks you’ve met
when they’re tired and upset,
or when they’re happy with life
‘cause things are going right?
I wonder if you know
how you calm this mother’s soul
because you’re able to discern
when to reach out in concern,
with calmness in the storms
and a heart that’s kind and warm.
So although we’ve never met
you can be sure I won’t forget
the kindness you’ve shown
to our daughter far from home,
and I pray in thanksgiving
that as you go on living
God will bless you each day
in a very special way.
