Springtime Delights

Visable in the skyline
for miles around
a home for eagles
can be found.

A Cup-shaped nest
where they come to lay,
in a pine tree overlooking
our home in East Bay.

The eagles have returned
and will nurture young
that are brought to life
before to long.

Then we will hear
squeals from the wild
of the baby eaglets
awaiting food to arrive.

Late summer we'll watch
the young learn to fly
as the mother hovers
beneath them close by.

This reminder of new life
springing up each year,
brings the glory of Easter
joyfully near.

It draws me to reflection
on the beauty of life...
as I offer thanksgiving
for Springtime Delights.
