Today's generation of father and son:
Ralph
and Max
Signs of
Peace
I stand and watch you
Playing 'round the pines,
Crows, juncos and chickadees
Like friends for all times.
You share the comfort
And the scattered seeds
While a squirrel climbs near
Looking for some feed.
The pines have grown tall
Since planted with care
By a dear young Cub
With his dad standing near.
A nature project it was
For a Cub badge you sought
That left us a blessing
That cannot be bought.
Who could have known
In many years to come
How creatures large and small
Would make themselves at home
Resting on the branches
Or nestled 'neath the trees
Sharing signs of peace
With observers like me.
