I have created these pages
in memory of our
father
who died at the age of 53 in 1964. I hope and pray that
those of you who have shared the sorrow of losing a loved one
may find in this poetry a source of comfort and healing.
Hope lets us
ride
the waves of life
rising daily
to accept
new life.

Facing Another Challenge
Facing another challenge...
-----------
believing there is
another lesson
to learn,
perhaps an opportunity
to let Love remove
all traces of fear...
to trust the unseen again.
What has sustained me
through challenges
of the past
if not Love,
teaching me
that life is a gift
to appreciate
and nurture.
So I seek wholeness...
a Spirit
unfettered
by pain,
a Spirit
that helps me
journey beyond
the pain,
to growth
to understanding
to peace
within.

A Worthy Dream
Half of the moon
----------------------------
is shut out from my view,
hidden, obscure, unseen...
It reminds me of life
when trials creep in
to seemingly cloud my dreams.
The moon is still there,
quite whole...I know,
since its form is sketched on my brain,
so like the dream
of wholeness for me,
I've a vision that's really quite plain.
The form you see
when you now look at me
may obscure what I might be,
but I've come to know
when I spend time alone
there's new life my God sees in me.
So take off the blinders
roll up the screens,
let the new moon rise up high
seek a clear vision
of who you are
and you'll find new reasons why,
you need time to make choices
to continually grow
to be the best you can be
and in the process
you will truly find
you've accomplished a worthy dream.
