Irish Lad

Please Let Me Brighten Your World

"Daddy's home now,"
I hear mommy say
And I run to meet him
Standing by the stairway.

I press my face towards him
Giving kisses between the rungs,
While dressed up in my diaper
And mommy's moccasins.

Daddy's eyes are smiling
'cause he's happy to see
His little boy run to meet him
Giving kisses for free.

I see my mommy smiling too
And I know I bring her joy.
She's laughing as she watches
Her funny little boy.

The moccasins she tells me
Are too big for my feet,
But she still lets me wear them
For a playtime treat.

I am a ray of sunshine
So my Grammie says,
I shine across the miles
Right into my Grammie's head.

So if you have a day
When you are feeling blue
Please let me brighten your world
By little things I say and do.
