Friends Around The World

Our friends are like flowers around the world,
that brighten the pathway we tread.
Some are precious as roses in their fullness of bloom
‘cause their beauty so graciously spreads.
Their colors are varied and sizes are too,
like violets and daffodils;
I can picture so many just now in my mind,
like a garden of flowers on a hill.
Our friends add a richness to our lives
and though one day our pathways do part,
the memories will last like radiant bouquets
that blossom within our hearts.
So walk through this world with an eye to see
the beauty that can be shared
if we live in unison as one large bouquet
brought together like friends who care.
Then some day in a time that we’ve yet to know,
we’ll all be united again;
all sizes, shapes and colors,
as one great big family of friends.

Written with love and prayers
of thanksgiving for all my friends,
those who are still with us
and those who have gone before us.
