When we seek
earthly rewards for happiness,
the sweet reward soon becomes sour,
as warm milk in the sun;
but when the love of God becomes our goal,
contentment becomes ours,
no matter what obstacles must be overcome.
----------------
Suffering and faith in God
often walk hand in hand,
one often feeds the other
and causes it to grow;
just as water becomes
a source of new life to God's creations,
faith blossoms deep within,
bringing a scent of freshness
to the smothering soul.
----------------
Rain clouds,
likened to the image of God in my mind,
pass by sprinkling new life
wherever rain falls.
Yet in this age,
tainted by the greed of humankind,
they fail to be seen as a source of beauty
originally bringing life to all.
----------------
When one faithfully takes time
and goes off to a quiet room to pray,
and pours out all that dwells
within one's heart and soul,
there is a peace to be found
that is so difficult to explain;
perhaps experience alone
allows the beauty of this peace
to grow.
----------------------
True friends are like
a breath of fresh air in spring.
They can sooth the pains of an aching heart
and bring living water to the dying soul.
They are a gift from God,
to be treasured,
even when paths must part.
--------------------
When humankind falls,
it is an opportunity given by God.
It is a time for growth
in which to ask forgiveness.
Jesus has told us,
"Ask and you shall receive."
Growth through repentance after a fall
is a precious gift,
one of God's many blessings.

Thoughts of home...
A Sandbar in the country where I live,
invites those who evidence
the gracious beauty there,
to experience the wonder
of the Kingdom of God on earth;
a Kingdom which bids us
to spread love everywhere.
----------------------
Our family is one showered abundantly
by the love of God.
This love has been born
of joy and suffering, shared by many.
We have grown in strength together,
yet apart.
Left in God's Hands
our joy will be eternal in the end.
