Dear Friend,
Today you received your wings.
You have been set free.
Free from pain and suffering
That cancer brought into your life,
Free from the burden of sorrow
That followed you on this journey
When your physical body
Was no longer the friend
You needed to carry on.
Today you have found new life
In Christ
For He was your fortress
And your strength
During your battle with cancer.
You never failed to believe
That throughout the journey
God was with you always
Helping you face each day.
Dear friend I thank you
For your faith
For your assurance
That when your time came
You would indeed have wings
That would carry you beyond
The trials of this earth
Into God's home
Of everlasting peace.

When death touches the life
of someone we have known and loved
we can become angry and bitter,
or we can ask ourselves
are we ready
for when our times comes
to leave this world.
There is no easy way to face death
even with Jesus as our strength
we still feel a sense of loss
for those who go on before us.
We can try to bury this loss
or we can allow Jesus to help us
walk through the loss and find peace.
Today I pray for all those
who have suffered the recent loss
of a loved one
and I ask God to be with you
to shower you with amazing grace
and help you on your journey of healing
in the weeks and months to come.
