In Thanksgiving for
Chicken Soup for the Soul

When you were a youngster did your mother ever say,
"Chicken soup is good for you, so we're having some today?"
Chicken soup was a must in many, many families
and I think of mom's wisdom now when I read,
from the series of books called "Chicken Soup for the Soul"
the brainstorm of Jack and Mark, who set out with a goal,
to share hope and inspiration with their community
and then with the world...hopefully.
They and friends gathered stories from folks in all walks of life
and reading these stories has brought me such delight,
"My world has been enriched in nourishing ways,
since I was introduced to this series one day."
I've felt the hopes and dreams of dads and moms
as they faced life's challenges with children of their own
and of people who have overcome the trials of ill health
and how their faith in God helped them to get well.
I've read I'm not the only mom, who has trouble letting go,
of our precious family as they grow.
So next time you're in a bookstore just take a look around
for the "Chicken Soup" series books until you have found
one of these great gifts of imagination
that are sure to lift your spirits no matter what your situation.
Just like mother believed chicken soup would help to heal,
the chicken soup series shares...loving nourishment with appeal.
