Have I told you about
my friend Shirl?
Well I’m tellin’ you now
she’s quite a girl.
She can turn her hand
to most anything,
the crafts she creates
would make your heart sing.
She can grow a garden
with blessings from above
and make preserves
always bottled with love.
Though we don’t get together
very often it seems
she’s close to my heart
and always will be.
We share common bonds
in various ways
and MS just happens
to be a challenge we face,
but God has blessed us
with trust in Him
so He sees us through
when things look grim.
We keep on striving
to make the best of life
and time slips on by
as days become nights.
Right now as I think
of my friend Shirl
I’m asking God to bless her
for enricing my world.
