Tonight
As numbness
Crept along my face
I found fear
Creeping into my mind
And then I found you,
With your words
Spoken from your heart
Shared across the pages
For all to see
For me to read
And smile
And laugh
And cry.
Now
The numbness matters not
Because I'm alive
And have reason to give thanks
For people such as you
Touching people such as me
Across the pages
Like an angel
Sent with a heavenly message
That life is
Good times and bad times
And this challenge too shall pass
As it has so often
Crept in and out
Of my life before.
