Congratulations Ski Ben Eoin
On Your 30th Anniversary!

Ski Ben Eoin is an excellent resort for learning to ski and a wonderful place for ski instructors to begin their lives of service. The following poem was written for our daughter Wanda in January 1990. Her love for spending time with her friends at the Ski Ben Eoin back then, led to a great accomplishment for Wanda, when she went on to a winter of instructing at Lake Louise in Alberta. Here Wanda was awarded the... KIDS SKI INSTRUCTOR of the Year Award. There was a staff of over thirty instructors for the children who visited and skied at Lake Louise during the winter of 1997-98. Ski Ben Eoin taught Wanda well and helped her learn to serve as a caring and conscientious instructor. (Spring 1998)

Congratulations On Your Award Wanda
and may life continue to be good to you
as you give your best in all you do!
Love and prayers from Mom & Dad!

  • An update on Wanda - February 28, 2004.

    Wanda spent six years working in retail
    in management positions in Banff, Alberta.
    In December 2003 Wanda came home to Cape Breton
    and married the love of her life,
    Paul Black and has since moved to Calgary
    where Paul has been living and working as a mechanic.
    Wanda is now an associate manager at GAP in Calgary
    and she and Paul are moving into a new apartment as I write.
    We wish you much love and many blessings Wanda & Paul.
    Love & prayers, Mom & Dad.

    Ski Ben Eoin

    Ski Ben Eoin is the place to be
    for those who really love to ski.
    To race on down the snow covered hills
    gives our daughter such a thrill.
    She and her friends enjoy the pace,
    you can see the joy in every face.
    They make their plans on the telephone;
    they seldom go there on their own.
    The year eighty-nine saw a new chair lift
    give Ski Ben Eoin such a shift.
    This lift will carry four at a time,
    so it cuts down greatly on the length of the line.
    Though the Club Membership took quite a rise,
    the management and team are well organized;
    and they encourage folks to make good use,
    of the various hills from which to choose.
    The platter lift is another new addition,
    for beginner skiers, not in top condition.
    This lift takes you half way up the main run,
    so you get a ski that's still plenty of fun.
    The rope-tow and T-bar are still there of course,
    and get lots of use when the crowd is full force;
    for Ski Ben Eoin is a super spot,
    and the view is gorgeous when you reach the top.
    Though with increasing numbers, Ski Lodge space is limited,
    folks are considerate of the time they spend in it.
    The Ski Lodge Staff are there to please,
    they are at your service and will put you at ease.
    You can have a meal or a hot cup of tea,
    as good as most fast foods on the Isle of CB.
    So why not join the folks at Ski Ben Eoin,
    and enjoy the fun-filled spirit they've hit upon.

    thus adding to the attractive atmosphere at the Ski Ben Eoin.
