played by enthusiastic young boys or girls?
Well this past Tuesday I witnesed real team spirit
in six young boys with a zest for the game.
My nephew David was one of six boys who showed up
to play for his team at the Coxheath field.
Despite the odds of playing against double the players
on the opposing team, the game went forward with gusto.
David was chosen to play goal and did so with enthusiasm.
His team-mates sure backed him up with a brilliant showing
of togetherness and determination to do their best.
I truly enjoyed watching the boys have fun
using their skills and knowledge of the game
to entertain all who were present enjoying their efforts.
Unfortunately I had to leave before the game was completed,
but I must say that both teams looked like they
were happy with the fellowship of the sport
and David's team-mates showed an amazing
zest for life as they chased after the soccer ball
eager to ensure they gave it their best kick.
Congratulations boys for sharing your enthusiasm
and showing us all that when you do your best
you're a winner no matter what.
