Tiny as a minute you are now
Your size is not really important
Yes, I have been praying for you
Every day I’ve been asking God to bless

When we received the news
from Ralph and Jennifer
that they were expecting a baby
I wrote with joy and thinksgiving:For You Dear Child
For you dear child my heart dances.
For you dear child my soul sings.
I could never have imagined
the happiness your life brings.
growing inside your Mom.
"How tiny is a minute?"
Well, probably tinier than my thumb.
because you are precious in your being,
and although I have not seen you yet
my heart tells me you are lovable indeed.
for a long time now dear Grandchild,
for you and all the little ones
who become part of our family pride.
your Mom and Dad and you too,
even though I didn’t know
just when we would learn about you.

Lord Bless This Child
Lord bless this child so dear to us all
and grant us wisdom to daily recall
the special gift...this child we see
brings to us as family.
Help us to guide this child with love
as you keep us mindful of
the the greatest gift that we can give
to this child as long as we live...is Love.
Dear Little One we love you so
and each new day as you grow
I pray God's angels watch over you
and your Mommy and Daddy too.
I offer thanksgiving for your life
throughout the day and into the night.

July 15, 1999.
There's not a day goes by
that I don't say a prayer
asking God to bless you child
and keep you in His care.
You're growing now in leaps and bounds
preparing for your birth
a time for you to share God's plan
to help enrich this earth.
For we are called to bless this world
with love and hope and peace
along the journey of our lives
as God's children I believe.
May you always know - you are loved
and precious in our eyes
for even though we're miles away
in heart we are close by.

Ottawa Visit
Forever Baby Boy
So Briefly Little
The following link will bring you to a poem
that I wrote in April 1963. I had been visiting
at Theresa & Johnny Axworthy's home where I saw a
beautiful picture of Jena & Bobby MacArthur's baby girl.
I then went home and took out baby pictures of
our own children. As I sat going through the pictures
I was inspired to write a poem -
The Radiant Smile Of A Child.
Little did I realize
how my heart would some day rejoice
at the picture of a precious Grandchild.

Dear Max,
I'm sending my love
through time and space
to plant angel kisses
on your sweet face
to tell you I love you
and miss you every day
but in Grammie's heart Max
you're never far away!

I Like This Pumpkin
My 1st Pumpkin
Look at this thing,
it’s a pumpkin they say.
Boy it sure is big!
I wonder if it’s here to stay?
Mommy says it’s orange
and my 1st pumpkin too,
as I sit here beside it
I wonder what it’s meant to do.
Is it safe to touch it?
Will it move if I do?
I don’t see any wheels
at least not in my view.
Mommy’s taking pictures
with the camera again,
this must be a special moment
with the pumpkin my new friend.
They say it’s Halloween today
so I'm dressed up in this suit
with eyes so big and wide
they’re looking back at you.
So Grammie save these pictures
of my 1st Halloween
and when I come to visit
you can show them to me
and I’ll tell you the story
of how Nanna, Mom and Dad
got so very excited
with your precious little lad.
I’ll tell you about the smiles
and laughter that we shared
as we celebrated Halloween
with Mr. Pumpkin there.
