"Love is a fruit in season
at all times,
and within the reach
of every hand.
- Mother Teresa

(c)Kitty Roach

When we received the news
from Ralph and Jennifer
that they were expecting a baby
I wrote with joy and thinksgiving:

For You Dear Child

For you dear child my heart dances.
For you dear child my soul sings.
I could never have imagined
the happiness your life brings.

Tiny as a minute you are now
growing inside your Mom.
"How tiny is a minute?"
Well, probably tinier than my thumb.

Your size is not really important
because you are precious in your being,
and although I have not seen you yet
my heart tells me you are lovable indeed.

Yes, I have been praying for you
for a long time now dear Grandchild,
for you and all the little ones
who become part of our family pride.

Every day I’ve been asking God to bless
your Mom and Dad and you too,
even though I didn’t know
just when we would learn about you.

Lord Bless This Child

Lord bless this child so dear to us all
and grant us wisdom to daily recall
the special gift...this child we see
brings to us as family.
Help us to guide this child with love
as you keep us mindful of
the the greatest gift that we can give
to this child as long as we live...is Love.
Dear Little One we love you so
and each new day as you grow
I pray God's angels watch over you
and your Mommy and Daddy too.
I offer thanksgiving for your life
throughout the day and into the night.

Dear Little One

Dear Little One
I think of you as the time draws near
for you to leave your Mother's womb
and bless us with your presence here.

There's not a day goes by
that I don't say a prayer
asking God to bless you child
and keep you in His care.

You're growing now in leaps and bounds
preparing for your birth
a time for you to share God's plan
to help enrich this earth.

For we are called to bless this world
with love and hope and peace
along the journey of our lives
as God's children I believe.

May you always know - you are loved
and precious in our eyes
for even though we're miles away
in heart we are close by.

Dear Child, the phone just rang
a moment after I wrote this poem above
and it was your Mom calling.
Truly we are close in heart and united in God's love.

Diary of a child

A Gift of Love

As I look at the ultrasound picture
we now have of you
I marvel at the miracle
of life in my view.
You are growing daily
inside your Mom
a gift of love
you have become.
(Ultrasounds are so amazing!)
- We love you Dear Little One!

before you were born I set you apart." - Jeremiah 1:5

You Will Soon Arrive

Dear Little One we've been told
that you will soon arrive,
our long expected Grandchild
whose been snuggled up inside,
safe within your Mother's womb
you've found life each day
loved from the very moment
we heard you were on your way.
So now we must be patient
'til we hold you in our arms
and tell you lovingly Dear Child
how very precious you are.

Welcome Max Doncaster
to our little corner of the world!
Max entered this world on
December 24th, 1999 and
he weighed a healthy 10 lbs. 3 oz.
We thank God for your safe arrival Max
and that your Mom and Dad are doing well.

Oh What A Gift!

Precious to mine eyes you are
shining like the evening star
set against the sky at night
guiding shepherds by the light.

Some would say you’ve been transformed
since you left your mother’s womb,
yet, you are still the babe to me
that I have loved for months you see.

Oh what a gift God shares with us
by placing you in our trust,
a child to love as family. . .
Grandchild, you give new life to me.

May the mantle of God’s Love
help to make us worthy of
the responsibility we share
to bless you always with loving care.

May the wisdom of God’s Love
help us all become more aware of
the precious gift that opens hearts
when Love gives life a blessed start.

Ottawa Visit

Forever Baby Boy

So Briefly Little

The following link will bring you to a poem
that I wrote in April 1963. I had been visiting
at Theresa & Johnny Axworthy's home where I saw a
beautiful picture of Jena & Bobby MacArthur's baby girl.
I then went home and took out baby pictures of
our own children. As I sat going through the pictures
I was inspired to write a poem -
The Radiant Smile Of A Child.
Little did I realize
how my heart would some day rejoice
at the picture of a precious Grandchild.

A Marvel

Dear Max,
I'm sending my love
through time and space
to plant angel kisses
on your sweet face
to tell you I love you
and miss you every day
but in Grammie's heart Max
you're never far away!

Sending love, hugs and kisses,

Max's 1st Halloween Pumpkin

I Like This Pumpkin

My 1st Pumpkin

Look at this thing,
it’s a pumpkin they say.
Boy it sure is big!
I wonder if it’s here to stay?
Mommy says it’s orange
and my 1st pumpkin too,
as I sit here beside it
I wonder what it’s meant to do.
Is it safe to touch it?
Will it move if I do?
I don’t see any wheels
at least not in my view.
Mommy’s taking pictures
with the camera again,
this must be a special moment
with the pumpkin my new friend.
They say it’s Halloween today
so I'm dressed up in this suit
with eyes so big and wide
they’re looking back at you.
So Grammie save these pictures
of my 1st Halloween
and when I come to visit
you can show them to me
and I’ll tell you the story
of how Nanna, Mom and Dad
got so very excited
with your precious little lad.
I’ll tell you about the smiles
and laughter that we shared
as we celebrated Halloween
with Mr. Pumpkin there.
