Do you believe in Guardian Angels,
someone said to me?
"Yes," I said,
"I do believe.
I know God sent an Angel
to Mary long ago.
It says so in the Bible
and I believe it's so."

When I was just a little girl
I learned the Guardian Angel prayer,
to ask my Guardian Angel
to always please be there,
to watch over me and guide me
and keep me safe from harm.
I could almost see my Guardian
standing by my arm.

The Angel who came to Mary
brought her surprising news,
of the special task God had for her,
what He wanted her to do.
He blessed her in a special way
by the Power of His Spirit
and placed within her womb that day
the Saviour of the world.

This message from the Angel
was hard to understand,
but Mary trusted and said, "Yes"
knowing help was close at hand.
For God stayed with her always
throughout the years ahead,
as Mary held within her heart
the words the Angel said.

Today the world has Jesus
because Mary trusted then,
for God gave her grace to bear Jesus
for women and for men.
So let us all who gather
to celebrate this day,
give thanks to God for Mary
who helped to lead the Way.

Angels Watching Over You

May you feel the gentle presence
of angels watching over you,
protecting you and guiding you
in everything you do.
May the special comfort
of angels from above,
be for you an "everlasting"
assurance of God's Love.

May the light of heaven
angels come to share with us,
give you and others reason
to place in God your trust.
May their never ending care
be with you every day,
as they keep you safe from harm,
this I humbly pray.

I pray too in thanksgiving
that our lives have been blessed,
as we welcome friends with open arms
when they come to be our guests.
For we are all God's children
and our lives go hand in hand,
with the healing of the world
spreading peace as He has planned.
