Alfred Taylor Recreation Facility 489-3219 Community Way, North Gower

The North Gower Recreation Association takes care of 16 acres of property and facilities at the Alfred Taylor Recreation Facility on Community Way in North Gower. It includes two softball diamonds, a soccer field, lighted tennis courts, and an outdoor rink that is flooded on cold nights by local volunteer firefighters. A toboggan hill was added in 1993. There are a pavilion and play structures behind the community centre.
The Recreation Facility is used for a number of special events including the very popular Canada Day in the Gower, and the North Gower Winter Carnival.

North Gower RA Hall rental: for weddings, parties. Capacity 350; bar and kitchen facilities; dishes, cutlery and wine glass rentals. To reserve, call 489-3975.

Harry Craig Community Centre Carsonby

The Harry Craig Community Centre, formerly known as the Carsonby Community Centre, is located on Regional Road 73, 5 kilometers north of North Gower. It offers an outdoor rink and local volunteers organize various programs from dancing to euchre tournaments. The hall was renovated in 1995.

Marlborough Community Centre Pierce's Corners

The Marlborough Community Centre in Pierce's Corners is located on Pierce Road, about 5 kilometers west of North Gower. It has an outdoor rink and soccer field.

  • Reservations available 9:00 - 11:00 p.m.
  • Lane rentals for parties, family/neighbour events - Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, reservations required.
  • Open Bowling $2 per string, shoes $1 per person
  • Reservations $15 per lane per hour, $45 for 4 lanes.
  • Leagues: Children, Saturdays (daytime), Ladies Tuesday evenings, Mixed Monday, Thursday, Friday evenings, Seniors Monday and Tuesday evenings.

    The municipal arena for Rideau Township is in Manotick.

    • public skating: Tuesday 4:00 - 5:00; Wednesday 1:00 - 2:00; Friday 10:00 - 11:00; 1:00 - 2:00; 7:00 - 8:00; Sunday 2:30 - 4:00. Admission $1.50 Tuesday and Sunday, $1.00 other days.
