Several months ago IStop.com stopped accepting new non-PPPoE customers. The purpose was to focus on PPPoE-based ADSL service, simplify the menu of services, and streamline operations. IStop.com intended to sell and transfer the existing non-PPPoE customer accounts to another ISP. An agreement was made with another ISP, however Bell Canada refused to transfer the accounts in accordance with the terms of their General Tariff Item 5420. IStop.com has attempted to get the CRTC to intervene, but so far the Commission has avoided any comment on the issue. Rather than pursue a formal complaint before the CRTC or pursue other legal remedies, IStop.com has decided to end non-PPPoE services as of June 6, 2005. Customers that choose to switch to PPPoE-based service will have the activation fee waived. For those that wish to continue to use a non- PPPoE service, IStop.com is recommending EGate (www.egate.net). E-Mail: ho@egate.net Tel: 1 (416) 443-7936 Tel: 1 (888) 404-8328x236 For subscribers switching from IStop.com, EGate will offer residential service for $79 per month and business service for $99 per month. The activation fee is $199. Both services include unlimited uploads and 50GB of downloads per month. Ralph Doncaster, IStop.com president 6042147 Canada Inc.
